Automotive OEM ESS Evaluation

The objective is to complete a thermal analysis of the current design of an Energy Storage System (ESS) for an Electric Vehicle (EV) of an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partner using Fluid ANSYS, a computer program specifically designed to test how fluid flow effects heat loss within a system. This is critical to EVs because ESS life and vehicle range are directly affected by proper temperature management. This project will inform the OEM partner on the suitability of the current design. Future work may include a re-design of the ESS thermal management system (TMS).
